Pasparakis Friel is an award-winning, RIAI-registered architecture studio based in Donegal, Ireland, working across residential, hospitality, cultural, conservation, and urban regeneration sectors.

Led by two co-founders with over 20 years’ experience each, the studio is defined by contextual design, material clarity, and a strong relationship to landscape.

Projects are grounded in site-specific responses to landscape, climate, and material context, with an emphasis on restraint, clarity, and longevity.

Pasparakis Friel are RIAI accredited in Grade III Conservation.

Sosie Pasparakis Dipl.-Ing. (FH) MRIAI

Sosie Pasparakis is Co-Founder and Partner at Pasparakis Friel Architects. With over 20 years of experience, she specialises in interior architecture, design leadership, and project delivery across complex residential and mixed-use environments.

She studied at SRH Heidelberg, Germany, and has been a guest critic at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, London.

Prior to founding the practice, she worked with leading studios in the UK and Germany, including Grimshaw Architects as Associate, contributing to the design and delivery of large-scale, technically demanding projects. She also worked with Schmucker and Partner, developing international experience across design-led architectural practice.

Sosie focuses on interior architecture and design coordination, translating architectural intent into resolved spatial and material outcomes. She has particular expertise in guiding projects from concept through to completion, ensuring coherence between design vision, detail development, and execution on site.

Ronan Friel BSc Dip Arch MRIAI

Ronan Friel is Co-Founder and Architect at Pasparakis Friel Architects. With over 20 years of experience, he leads the practice’s work in rural, coastal, and contextual architecture across Ireland.

The practice is recognised for contemporary one-off houses in rural and coastal settings, alongside work in conservation, hospitality, urban regeneration, and placemaking. Its work is defined by landscape responsiveness, material clarity, and site-specific design.

Ronan studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, Technische Universität Graz, and RGU Aberdeen.

He previously held senior positions at Grimshaw Architects as Associate and at ODOS Architects as Creative Director, working across the UK, USA, and Ireland on infrastructure, cultural, and residential projects.

He has been a guest critic at the Architectural Association, London, and lectured at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture, RGU Aberdeen. His work focuses on rural and coastal architecture in Ireland, with an emphasis on restraint, environmental integration, and material precision.
